Julia McKeough
Julia McKeough brings nearly 20 years of North American and European design sensibilities to every project. After relocating from Vancouver to London in 2018, she immersed herself in the local design scene through the KLC School of Design, gaining valuable insights and connections.
Julia’s design philosophy centres around building spaces that merge creative tension with functionality. In order to reflect her clients’ unique personalities, she prioritizes understanding a client’s routines and goals, alongside their most cherished items, ensuring that their home is a true reflection of their lifestyle. She then considers the story of the house itself and from there the design process begins.
Collaborating closely with architects and builders, Julia emphasises quality and attention to detail throughout the design-to-construction process. Incorporating vintage antiques with modern contemporary pieces is a juxtaposition that helps create an interesting and engaging place. Layering the two aesthetics allows each to emerge. This also allows her to infuse creative tension into every place she designs.
Her goal is to create authentic, unique spaces that not only connect with the building and its surroundings but also provide practical performance. Above all, the house must be functional, ensuring that it works for all those that live there.
