The Process
Sourcing is a huge part of the design process, involving trial and error and lots of patience, but it’s always worth the journey.
Each project is different. It might begin with a particular item, a carpet, a sofa, or a family heirloom, and the room builds around that. A client might bring other influences to the table, a specific design era or certain cultural suggestions, all factors are considered and weighed out from the beginning.
A designer is there to guide and make suggestions. However, the client’s input is paramount in dictating the jumping-off point.
It’s about the layers and how they play off each other. Layering up should be about making your space, your own. Doing this means that your space speaks your voice and hopefully passes the test of time - or at least until you’re ready for another change.
A designer should obsessively chase down every colour combination and furniture style, so you don’t have to. Giving you the confidence to buy something bold to push your space to a new level.
The ultimate goal is to provide a unique blend of colours, textures, and styles that make you happy. A mix of imagination, joy, and fun should be fundamental to every design approach.
