Bespoke
The reward in creating a bespoke piece of furniture for a project is invaluable and, although it is not a necessity for every project to have one, they can often be the crown jewel needed to elevate and personalise a space.
This project was a personal commission that I designed after my father passed away in 2015. As I was sorting through his treasures, I came across his collection of tweed jackets that were still in pristine condition and held in them the memory of who he was.
My trusted upholster and furniture designer in Vancouver helped me create this deconstructed ottoman that I see is now very on-trend in the fashion houses around the world. Leaving the labels and pockets in place added that little touch of whimsy that I love so much.
